ProSpec, Bonsal American’s brand of professionally specified construction products, now offers products that contribute to the United States Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Depending on the selected product, customers may qualify for up to five LEED points.
Point contributions are calculated from two stipulations – indoor environmental quality, and materials and resources. Indoor environmental quality focuses on low-emission materials that include adhesives, sealants, coatings and composites. Materials and resources centers on post-consumer recycled resources and regional materials produced within a 500-mile radius of the sales center.
As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, ProSpec is committed to following a socially responsible path of sustainability. ProSpec actively seeks to minimize waste, follow energy conservation guidelines, incorporate recycled content into finished goods, locate manufacturing facilities in proximity to customers and ensure a safe, accident-free workplace by providing ongoing workplace training and development.
“Bonsal American and all its brands take a holistic view of sustainability, and go a step further than simply offering LEED products,” said Johnsie Beck, Executive Vice President of Sales. “Sustainability is engrained in our culture of social responsibility, much like our ongoing commitment to safety and community service.”
